Other News:
The SUNYOne Operations Group final report was shared with the membership on Wednesday. SCLD was informed that the pilot project was completed and concluded with several recommendations for the future. This report will be forwarded to the soon-to-be-convened SCC for further action.
SUNYOne’s conclusions & recommendations:
“The SUNYOne Operations Group believes strongly that although the present model isn’t perfect, we cannot afford to stop moving in this direction. Given the success of the pilot at diversifying the SUNY collection, the SUNYONE Operations Group recommends that a system-wide program be put in place for the purchase of SUNY-first-copy titles. Our suggestion is that a Purchase On Demand program funded through the SUNY Connect Core Services fees be created. It is important at this juncture that the SUNY Council of Library Directors continues to address the issues surrounding collaborative collection development including determining the maximum number of copies held and addressing the issue of last copy held.”
